Senior Stud Hand

Forest View Farm is a small family run boutique Thoroughbred Stud located just outside Busselton.

We run a small band of broodmares and young stock for yearling sales and racing. We love our horses and take great care in their welfare and upbringing right from conception. We focus on good starting foundation with a holistic approach to their wellbeing, giving our horses the best possible start to their racing career.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard working person to join our small team in a full-time capacity as Senior Stud Hand.

The ideal applicant will ideally have horse experience, not necessarily thoroughbred experience as we will provide on the job training.  Drivers license is essential, as well as a willingness to learn, honesty, a strong work ethic and an eye for detail.

Duties will include feeding horses, making feeds, mucking out, handling horses – from foals all the way up to broodmares, yearling prep, attending Perth sales for up to a week, some farm work – including mowing and driving a tractor.

Regular hours are Monday to Friday and generally one weekend a month.

Hourly wage range is $30 – $35 depending on experience.  We are open to negotiation.
