We are seeking a passionate and experienced horse person to join our team at Telemon Stud.
We are a progressive thoroughbred stud located in Queensland, 1.5hrs from Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Located in the picturesque Scenic Rim, we house up to 250 horses, from spellers to broodmares, foals and yearlings, and also our 4 resident Stallions.
We offer the opportunity to gain experience in all aspects of thoroughbred breeding, both on farm and at the leading Australian sales. Telemon Stud is situated on prime thoroughbred breeding ground, proven to produce top class race horses, we are an ambitious farm, striving for success in the sales ring and on the track and are looking to build a team of dedicated, knowledgeable staff to help us succeed.
This is a full time position, working a 12 days on, 2 days off roster (every other weekend off). Accommodation is provided on farm, with a remuneration package in accordance with experience. Applicants must have a good work ethic and current driver’s license. Duties will include:
* Day to day care of horses, including feeding, rugging and administration of treatments (oral and injectable) would be desired.
* Cleaning of stables and yards.
* Grooming and Bathing.
* Catching/ Movement of horses, including for the vet and farrier.
Applicants must be hard working, team players who can also confidently work alone. They must also be reliable and punctual, with a keen attention to detail. Previous experience with Yearling preparation is highly regarded.
